Partners

Steven E. Pribnow, CPA, JD   email
Steve began his accounting career in 1974, and joined Erickson & Brooks in 1986. He is the firm's tax partner, and currently serves as the managing partner. He previously worked at several other public accounting firms, including one national firm, a community bank, and the Internal Revenue Service. He has served and currently serves on various community organization boards. He is a member of the usual professional organizations.
 
Steve received his B.S. from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and his J.D. from Creighton University. He works with the firm's clients in all areas of taxation.
 

Daniel J. Wiesen, CPA   email
Dan is the firm's designated partner for the telecommunications side of the practice. His experience includes audit, income tax and consulting services associated with independent local telecommunication companies and related cable television, cellular and wireless operations. In addition, he provides audit and business and income tax services for clients in the manufacturing and auto dealership industries. He also provides individual income tax services.
 
Dan received his B.S. at Midland Lutheran College in 1980 and began his career with the firm during his senior year. He was admitted as a partner in the firm in 2001.
 
He is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants and the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has been involved in various community and nonprofit organizations, serving as a board member, officer and committee member.
 

Kent P. Speicher, CPA   email
Kent is the firm's accounting and auditing partner with extensive background in small business accounting and auditing services, governmental auditing and budgeting services, and non-profit accounting and auditing services. In addition he provides business and individual tax services to a variety of individuals and small businesses. Kent is involved in the firm's fraud investigative services, business valuation and litigation support services, and other non-traditional consulting services.
 
Professionally, Kent is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also active in various community organizations.
 
Kent received his B.S. at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 1982. He joined Erickson & Brooks in 1986 and was admitted as partner in 2001.

Former Partners

Lloyd E. Brooks   email
Lloyd began a career in public accounting with Erickson & Brooks in 1972, during his senior year at Midland Lutheran College. He was admitted as a partner of the firm in 1978. Lloyd has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Lloyd has served various community, civic and nonprofit organizations as a board member, officer and committee member. He received the Nebraska Society of CPAs prestigious Public Service award in 2008, which recognizes a Nebraska CPA who has devoted extraordinary service to his or her community.

Lloyd retired from the firm in 2010 and continues to live and be involved in the Fremont community.

Dean Erickson
Dean began his career in public accounting with Erickson & Brooks in 1959, and was admitted as a partner in 1965.

During his time with the firm, Dean served the firm’s clients in the areas of taxation, accounting, auditing and other areas. He was particularly involved with the firm’s local telephone company practice.

Dean was involved in professional organizations during his tenure with the firm and also served many community civic and charitable organizations, solidifying the firm’s commitment to the Fremont area and its local nonprofit organizations.

Dean retired from Erickson & Brooks in 1998, and continues to live and be involved in the Fremont community.

Manager

Cheryl Pester, CPA   email
Cheryl is a native of Crete, Nebraska. She is a graduate of Midland University. She started with the firm in 2012. She works with a cross-section of the firm's clients, and is involved in tax planning and preparation, auditing and accounting services, and computerized accounting services.
Cheryl serves on the board of a community organization and is a member of several professional organizations.

Senior Accountants

Emily Pernicek, CPA   email
Emily is a native of Hastings, Nebraska. She is a graduate of Doane College (University). She started with the firm in 2013. She works with a cross-section of the firm's clients, and is involved in tax planning and preparation, auditing and accounting services, and computerized accounting services.
Emily is involved with several community organizations and is a member of several professional organizations.

Accountants

Rhonda L. Hanneman   email
Rhonda is a native of Cozad, and started with the firm in October, 2017. She is an accounting graduate of the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Rhonda has prior experience in providing tax and accounting services for another public accounting firm, a franchise tax preparation company, a bank and several private companies. She has been involved with various community organizations. Rhonda provides accounting and tax services to various clients of the firm.

Paul Maassen   email
Paul is a native of Avoca, Iowa, and started with the firm in January, 2020. He is an accounting graduate of Iowa State University and has an MBA from Creighton University. Paul has prior experience in providing tax and accounting services for several other public accounting firms and has worked as an accountant in private industry. Paul provides accounting and tax services to various clients of the firm.

Lori Hennessey   email
Lori is originally from Fremont and started with the firm in June, 2022. She worked at Fremont Office Equipment/OfficeNet for 43 years, finishing as office manager of their three locations. Lori works with a wide spectrum of the firm's clients, providing accounting and payroll services and support and tax preparation services.

Quentin Ternus   email
Quentin is originally from Maryville, Missouri, and started with the firm in June, 2022. He is an accounting graduate of Midland University in Fremont, where he participated on the football team and received several academic awards. Quentin provides auditing, accounting and tax services to numerous clients of the firm.

Steven M. Pleskac, CPA  email
Steve is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska and now resides in Fremont. Steve received his B.S. and his Masters of Professional Accountancy from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Steve started with the firm in 2008 and works with some of the firm's clients providing tax preparation and planning services during the tax filing season.

Support Staff

Julie M. Bradrick   email
Julie is a native of Fremont and started with the firm in 2006 as receptionist and administrative assistant. She continues with these duties, as well as managing all support areas of the firm. She is the principal relationship manager with our clients and staff.
 

Melissa Eddins   email
Melissa joined the firm in November, 2017, and is a native of Oakland, Nebraska. She has an Associate's Degree as an Administrative Assistant from Metropolitan Community College, and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She has prior administrative experience with several private companies in the area. Melissa is our firm IT administrator, manages receivables, provides receptionist services, and serves in any support area where she is needed.
